Tuesday  10th November (remember new time)
Georgina Hannaby is a practising artist and art teacher from Addingham and is studying a postgraduate
course in children with autism at Birmingham University. Georgina has considerable experience in working
alongside children with Autism and Aspergers syndrome in a range of settings, including schools,
residentials and with AWARE in Addingham. Georgina will offer parents with recently diagnosed children
information on identifying and understanding the different characteristics of Autism and Aspergers
syndrome. The focus will be on key areas such as communication, social, emotional and behavioural issues
and looking at strategies that will help in addressing these issues and there will be the opportunity
throughout the evening for parents to share concerns and ask any questions.
Last month s speaker was Amber Burton, Lead for Autism in North Yorkshire. Amber has a wealth of
experience and expertise in helping children/young people with an ASC and schools and the parents who
